Here at Play Magnus, we’re passionate about making the world a smarter place. This has been our mission from the very start, and it’s something we use to guide our decisions each day. What better way to do this than by creating a way for kids to fall in love with the game of chess – a game that’s been proven to improve academic scores, particularly in STEM subjects.
That’s why we were so pleased to hear this week that the Norwegian Film Institute, a group that operates under The Royal Norwegian Ministry for Culture, announced it would be providing 500,000 NOK to contribute to the funding of our newest project – a chess game just for kids.
The new app will teach kids chess using the ‘DragonBox method'. This method has been extremely successful in teaching kids math skills around the world. The new app will also help kids develop strong memory and problem-solving skills, all while augmenting their overall creativity.
This project would not be possible without our partners, DragonBox, the creators of some of the world’s best math games. The DragonBox team are experts at making beautiful learning experiences that make even the most challenging subjects accessible to everyone.
We are so excited about this project, and we hope to have it out to you by the end of this year. Make sure you keep an eye on our blog and Facebook page for updates!
