A Sky-High Play Magnus Experience with SAS

Have you ever found yourself stuck in the middle seat on a long-haul flight wishing to pass the time with a game of chess? With the new SAS and Play Magnus partnership, Play Magnus is coming to the SAS inflight entertainment system.

Drop your books, tablets and phones, and engage in a new full chess experience while flying SAS. Starting November 1st, following an introductory video by Magnus Carlsen in the inflight entertainment system, passengers will be able to challenge the World Chess Champion from ages 5 through 25 in the Play Magnus app. For those who are new to chess, Magnus has made a series of six tutorials which will be featured under SAS TV for passengers to learn from the best. In addition to battling the existing AI, passengers will also be able to face off against each other throughout the journey. In the future, not only will travelers be able to challenge each other on the same flight, but on all SAS flights around the world. For those who want to take a break from the chessboard, the new “Magnus” biography, which premiered this fall in Norway, will be available for all to watch and enjoy in the SAS entertainment system.

This experience will continue to expand chess’ global presence, introducing more beginners to the game, and bringing a sky high chess experience for existing players.
