The point of this game is to help you visualise the positions of your pieces. In the first levels there are only two pieces that you need to keep track of, which makes it relatively easy to keep track.
Managing three or more pieces gets quite a challenge, but you'll soon get the hang of it. If you ever lose track of your pieces, you can use the hint button to get reminded of their positions.
